Evaluation for Freak The Freak Out
Evaluation of The Lip Sync Task
Camera angles:
We used a variety of camera angles - the most prominent were the low angle shots, where I sat on the fence and sang into the camera. These shots were effective as the effect of me being higher asserted dominance and female empowerment. The effect was to appear as if I was getting in someone's face and essentially confronting them.
What went well: Using the low angles to create levels and assert dominance within the frame.
To improve: Maybe use worm's eye shots so its fully off the ground. This would have worked in nicely with the other tiers and created a sort of bridge between shots.
Editing:
For the editing process, we used the iMacs in A25. We used Adobe Premiere Pro CC to edit, sequence and transition each shot so that the video ran smoothly, with the lip syncing as well as the audio track. We used more of the fence shots during editing but we also used an equal amount of midwaist shots to create levels.
What went well: Sequencing - cutting the shots to make sure it was in the correct positions so the audio and the moving image synced up.
To improve: Experiment with FX and special finishings. Experiment with transition effects to give the video a more complex structure.
Overall:
Overall, the lip sync task was a lot of fun. It was really nice working with Hanni and Sharnee, we got a lot done as a group and the end product turned out quite nicely.

Evaluation for Diamonds - Media practice video
We have completed filming and editing our practice music videos. The video was a success and the experience has taught me a lot, like how to use Adobe Premiere and this has opened my eyes to what I will do similarly and differently when I make my real music video next year.
Reflection
What I've enjoyed: I really enjoyed starring in the video and using Premiere because it is a very useful application for video editing and correcting.
What I've learnt: I've learnt how to use the simplistic features of Premiere. Using the software allowed me to experiment with different settings and work out how to work at it independently.
Major challenges: One of the major challenges was to get the lighting perfect in the shots and to work quickly. Since every setting we used was already naturally lit, we had to film the shots in manual focus - which was also a hard task because every time the camera moved, Karalina had to reset the function.
Major challenges for next year's project: Working on the main project next year will be much harder because it will take more time to plan and shoot. Realistically, the video needs to be 3-4 minutes long. We will also have to do the shooting outside of college meaning we will have to communicate clearly about when, how and what we're filming with the members of our group. Time management and communication will definitely be one of the most challenging aspects disregarding filming and editing.
